Successfully Organizing Charity Golf Tournaments

Did you know that a golfing event is a great way to earn money for charitable organizations? Charity golf tournaments are highly successful for many reasons. First, people enjoy playing the game, so the fact that it is a golfing event will draw many people. Another reason for the popularity of these events is that people always jump at the chance to give to worthwhile causes, while at the same time getting something rewarding in return. But while these events are highly successful at bringing in money, they are incredibly difficult to organize and plan. Here are some tips for planning a successful charitable golfing event.
One of the first things you need to do is choose a date and location. Charity golf tournaments need to be planned and booked well ahead of time. Remember, when you are having your event, the course that you have chosen will basically be giving you the entire facility for your event. They are not willing to do this too often, so booking well ahead of time is important to ensure you get the course you want. Also, getting morning tee times, which is ideal for your players, can be a challenge. Again, booking early will help with this as well.
Once you have chosen your location and date, you need decide on your budget. This will allow you to purchase the important promotional materials you need to recruit players for your event. These materials can include:
* Apparel to give to potential guests
* Flyers advertising the event
* Incentive rewards for those who sign up
* Signs and posters to post around your area telling of your event.
These materials can be somewhat expensive to purchase. Try to find a company that will give you discounts since you are purchasing these products in bulk. You may also be able to get a discount if you let them know you are working on planning charity golf tournaments for a good cause.
One thing you may unintentionally overlook when planning is the rewards you will give your winning team or player. Also, do not forget to plan for equipment that your players might need. You will not want to ask them to pay extra for golf cars and balls, and you may have a player or two that forgets to bring clubs. If this happens, you need to have some equipment available for these players to use.
As you can clearly see, there is a lot of work that goes in to planning charity golf tournaments. One way to take some of the stress off of your shoulders is to work with a professional organization company. One of the most experienced companies in the industry is De Winter Golf Enterprises. They have been planning golfing events for twenty years, and they also host their own charitable events throughout the year. They also give their clients amazing discounts on promotional materials and other products. How to Choose a New Golf Bag

Golf bags come in a variety of types. If you have just started playing golf or have been playing for awhile you will need to consider what the options are. The various types of golf bags include carry bags, staff bags, cart bags and travel bags.
You should choose a carry bag if you intend to walk the golf course, perhaps for fitness purposes or because of the fact your like the walk. Carry bags are lightweight so that they are easily carried and are often constructed from nylon and plastic, canvas. They are usually limited in size because they can't be too big or heavy but will be able to fit a basic set of clubs, tees, balls and towel. When it is time to put the bag down to play a shot you can use a specially designed stand to keep the bag upright.
While carry bags are carried by the golfer or caddie, cart bags are designed to be placed on the back of an electric golf cart or hand pushed cart. They are simply too big to carry because they are intended to be able to carry a lot more equipment than a carry bag such as extra clubs, golf drivers, drinks, shoes, extra clothes and anything else you can imagine that you would want on a golf course. With that said, most cart bags have a strap that will allow you to carry them. Just be warned however, that when they are full you will need to be very strong and fit to carry them for a full 18 holes.
Professional golfers use what is called a staff golf bag. Often, they don't carry them as they have a caddie to do the heavy lifting for them. These bags are essentially very large carry bags. They are designed to carry up to 14 golf clubs and all the rest of the equipment that a professional golfer requires when they are playing. If you aren't a professional golfer but require a large golf bag then this is worth a look.
But what about when you need to take your clubs when you travel, like on a business trip or vacation? Thankfully they have thought of this too. A golf travel bag provides protection for your clubs whether it is on a plane or in a car. If you think that you will travel mainly by car then a soft golf travel bag would most likely be the best choice for you. They are lightweight and compact. Alternatively for those who travel by plane, a hard travel would be the ideal choice.
A hard golf travel bag has a hard outer shell that provides great protection for your clubs and gear while they get tossed around by the baggage handlers. The fantastic thing about hard travel bags is that when you finally reach the golf course they can be used on a golf cart. This means you won't need to move your gear from one bag to another when you want to play. However, you won't be able to use them as carry bags and you will need to check them in when you board your plane as airlines consider them to be luggage.
As you can see, there are a range of golf bags that you can choose that will fit whatever purpose you'll need them for. The best bag can only be chosen once you know exactly what you will take with you on the course including clubs, golf drivers, towels, shoes and more. You will also need to know whether you will be walking, use a golf cart or need to travel to your destination.
